As EA will be using Denuvo DRM to protect the title while Maxis took a shift to the Unreal Engine, it is evident that a free-to-play model won’t affect them much from making money. Because there will be a lot of DLCs that players will need to pay to use. The game will support cross-platform play. However, Sims 5 playtest build leak didn’t contain any information regarding the release date.

The last edition of this popular series was released back in 2014. Since then, the developers continued to provide updates to the game but were far away from making a sequel. However, the much-anticipated title is far away from release and also it is not clear whether the leaked build is recent or from an old update. While we don’t know these details, it is wise to wait for information from the connected authorities.
